Modern education has evolved greatly with the advancement of technology and means of communications. Academic environments that encourage resilience, self-confidence, and adaptability are essential in helping students and schools to embrace these changes. To that end, schools must also place a high priority on pastoral care and student wellbeing.
In the context of her 23 years of experience in education, Eve Jardine-Young will address the specific societal pressures and considerations girls face in navigating their own professional and personal paths, and how educators and parents can teach the inherent value of developing personal definitions of success so that women can be empowered to challenge and shape their lives and communities.
Eve Jardine-Young was born and raised in Malawi. She became Principal of Cheltenham Ladies’ College in 2011. Jardine-Young has a degree in Engineering Science from the University of Cambridge and worked for Ove Arup and Partners before beginning her career in education. Prior to taking up her current role as Principal, Eve’s career in education included teaching Economics and positions as Director of Studies, Head of Sixth Form Development and Housemistress in both co-educational and single-sex (boys) schools.
As a member of GSA, BSA, and HMC, she is also Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Gloucestershire, a governor trustee of the Barnwood Trust, a member of the Malborough College Education Committee, and an advisor to the Centre for Resilience at the University of Westminster. Eve has written articles featured in educational publications and the Huffington Post UK.
