Drop in on Korea from our global stage as we bring together Korean films, families and leaders for a film screening and talks of new hits, indie-picks and classics at our Center. To deepen our understanding of Korean experience and culture diving into themes of family, Asia Society Hong Kong center is bringing 6 Korean films to Hong Kong audience.

A wealthy family, once real estate dealer in South Korea, lost everything with the Asian financial crisis in the 90s. Their only child, Minji Ma, started to be ashamed of her parents, and distanced herself from them, eventually losing touch completely. Years later, she decided to return to her parents with a camera to find out if they could be a family again. Can the apple fall far from the tree and can the daughter fix the course of their “family”? The film is the debut feature of the director, and it won Grand Prix at the 2017 EBS International Documentary Festival.
