VIEW EVENT DETAILSMr. Leung is the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council and a National Standing Committee member of the mainland's top advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He is strongly tipped as a contender to run for election as the next Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, when Mr. Donald Tsang's term expires in 2012. Mr. Leung has dedicated many years of his life to public service. He was extensively involved in the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR and was Secretary General of the Basic Law Consultative Committee (1988-90). He is Chairman of the Council of the City University of Hong Kong; Pro Chancellor of University of West of England and Chairman, Board of Directors, at the think tank, One Country Two Systems Research Institute. He is a past Chairman of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and past President of the Institute of Surveyors in Hong Kong. Mr. Leung is the Asia Pacific Chairman of DTZ, a leading global property services company. He holds a B.Sc. in Valuation and Estate Management from Bristol Polytechnic, U.K.. He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration from the University of the West of England and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
