Accessible Yoga – Yoga is for everyone with Hersha Chellaram of Yama Foundation

Accessible Yoga is an inclusive yoga practice for people with limited mobility or flexibility. The session opens with a presentation on the approach and benefits of Accessible Yoga, following with a Chair Yoga Class (adaptations for wheelchair users included). The class is open to complete beginners, people with limited flexibility and mobility, senior citizens, people with disability, and their families and carers. The space is wheelchair accessible.
*NOTE: People who need one-to-one assistance must bring their own attendant to the class or notify us [email protected] to arrange.
Hersha Chellaram is the founder of YAMA Foundation — a unique non-profit in Hong Kong that makes yoga, arts and meditation accessible to Hong Kong’s underserved communities (yamahk.org). She has over 17 years of experience teaching yoga to any age and ability, and specialises in teaching yoga to people with special needs and disabilities. She is the head teacher trainer at Hersha Yoga: Affiliate School of Integral Yoga in Hong Kong (hershayoga.com), training yoga teachers to be adaptive, inclusive, diverse and body positive.
