The Association of Southeast Asia Nations or ASEAN is a diverse region of almost 700 million people. Strong economic growth and a young and increasingly well-educated population have contributed to a vibrant arts and cultural sector. The ASEAN FILM FESTIVAL (AFF) is organized by the Hong Kong-ASEAN Foundation (HKAF) as a non-profit initiative to promote cultural understanding through the art of storytelling via films. AFF will showcase a curated selection of films from Southeast Asia's top filmmakers. As ASEAN Film Festival Co-presenter this year, Asia Society Hong Kong will host five movie screenings at the Asia Society Theatre.

東南亞國家聯盟（東盟）是一個擁有近7億人口多元化的地區。受惠於高速經濟增長、有利環境和良好的教育，該區的藝術與文化產業急速發展，為生活注入更多活力。香港- 東盟協會（HKAF）主辦的東盟電影節（AFF）是一個非營利的倡議，旨在通過電影細述的故事，讓大眾對東南亞文化有更深入正面的理解和賞識。AFF為東南亞最傑出的電影工作者提供在港展示作品和才藝的平台，促進兩地文化交流。亞洲協會香港中心有幸成為本年度東盟電影節 (AFF)的合辦機構之一，將於八月進行一共5場的電影放映。

Moving story about Yen, a lovely 10-year-old country girl who was forced by parental arrangement to marry Hanh, a 9-year-old boy. The film portrays the perseverance and virtues of Vietnamese women in overcoming difficulties and the search for happiness.

A supernatural drama film by Mattie Do, the first female Laotian filmmaker. An old hermit discovers that the silent spirit whose death he witnessed fifty years ago, can transport him back in time to preempt his mother’s terminal suffering from tuberculosis.

這是一部由首位老撾女電影製作人，馬蒂·杜所執導的超自然戲劇電影。一位老隱士希望借他五十年前目睹死亡的靈魂助他回到過去，試圖阻止他母親因肺結核而痛苦臨終的悲劇發生。

August 11, 18:30 – Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass, Vietnam – 103 mins

Adapted from a novel, the movie tells the story of two brothers Thieu and Tuong living in a poor countryside village in Vietnam during the 1980s. A touching portrayal of brotherly love, childhood struggles, and relationships, the film was selected as the Vietnamese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.

電影講述了越南1980年代，在貧窮農村生活的T h i e u 和Tu o n g 的感人童年故事，描繪著兄弟之間既有爭拗也有溫馨的畫面。這部改編自小說的電影曾被提交到第89屆奧斯卡最佳外語片的越南代表參選作品。

A comedy-drama selected as Indonesia's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards in 2023, the film tells the story of a married couple staging their divorce to convince their estranged children to return home in time for a traditional event.
