Viet Nam Initiative

Australia and Viet Nam are natural economic partners. Viet Nam is an active regional middle power and a dynamic and rapidly-growing market. Viet Nam is one Australia’s fastest growing trade partnerships.

Australia is seeing renewed opportunity in the rapidly-growing Vietnamese economy and sharing a common vision for our region.

Asia Society Australia’s Viet Nam Initiative is focussed on building closer economic relations between our two nations. The Initiative presents research and insights from Australian leaders and companies active in Viet Nam, highlights opportunities and risks in bilateral economic engagement and connects organisations and leaders to strengthen people-to-people connectivity.

Our work supports the Australia-Viet Nam Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy signed in November 2021 to boost bilateral trade and investment to support both countries’ sustainable, inclusive economic growth.
