Anthony Bubalo Appointed To Lead Asia Society Australia
Asia Society Australia is thrilled to announce the appointment of Anthony Bubalo as its new Chief Executive Officer. With extensive experience in foreign policy, research and not-for-profit organisations, Bubalo brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the organisation.
In accepting his new role, Bubalo said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Asia Society Australia, to work with its terrific Board and staff, and to build upon its impressive achievements to date, deepening Australia’s relations with Asia.”
He also noted that Australia was at a complex and consequential point in its long history with Asia. “As a nation, we need to tap all the expertise and experience that we can. This is where Asia Society Australia can contribute: by creating forums for frank, thoughtful engagement between government, business, and the community; by highlighting the knowledge that exists within Australia’s Asian communities and amongst those who have traded, worked, and studied in Asia; and by offering the insights of our experts, including from Asia Society’s global network.”
Asia Society Australia Chairman, Stuart Fuller, welcomed Bubalo’s appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the organisation to new heights.
“Anthony’s extensive experience in foreign policy and diplomacy, combined with his deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Australia in the Asian region, make him the ideal candidate to lead Asia Society Australia.”
“We are excited to have him on board and look forward to working closely with him to advance our mission of fostering greater understanding and collaboration between Australia and Asia.”
Deputy Chair of Asia Society Australia, Swati Dave added that "We’re delighted to have Anthony join as our new CEO. His strong leadership skills combined with expertise in foreign policy and a deep understanding of the complexities of the Asia-Australia relationship will help both our team and our organisation to continue to evolve and grow.”
