Winning 6 golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronzes at five Paralympic Games between 1996 and 2012, Hong Kong athlete So Wa Wai is nicknamed "the magic kid" for his victories in the Paralympic Games. Zero to Hero, a 2021 biopic about So Wa Wai directed by Chi-man Wan, was a box office smash in the Hong Kong film market, and was submitted for competition in the Best International Feature Film category at the 2022 Academy Awards. Join us for the next program of our Social Soul Sessions to not only celebrate the achievements of this legendary Paralympian, but also learn more about the struggles So Wa Wai and his family endured, and resolve they showed both on and off the racetrack.
Designed specifically for our members and the public in quarantine, Social Soul Sessions is an online program series about connection for those in isolation through the arts.
