This fall, Hong Kong Ballet presents a fresh new staging of the greatest romantic ballet of all time: Giselle.  Join the artists of Hong Kong Ballet for a unique, behind-the-scenes opportunity at our second Ballet Happy Hour.  You will enjoy an open rehearsal of this iconic and hauntingly beautiful classic, staged by Hong Kong Ballet Artistic Director Septime Webre and South African Ballet Master Charla Genn, and then grab a drink and chit chat with the dance artists afterwards. 

今個秋天，香港芭蕾舞團將會上演史上最浪漫的芭蕾舞劇《吉賽爾》。來參與我們10月19日第二個芭蕾歡樂時光活動，把握是次機會體驗這齣經過177年仍歷久不衰，超凡脫俗的絕美製作，進入一個以真愛超越一切的浪漫國度。藝術總監衛承天將會與南非芭蕾舞藝術家格安攜手合作，帶領芭蕾舞者重塑芭蕾舞劇中最永恆的著名鉅作, 率先為您呈獻《吉賽爾》的彩排。彩排結束後更可與藝術人員和舞蹈家品嘗美酒，暢談藝術，舞蹈與浪漫！

Septime Webre is an internationally recognized ballet director, choreographer, educator and advocate. He assumed artistic directorship of Hong Kong Ballet from July 2017, prior to that, he led The Washington Ballet for 17 years and the American Repertory Ballet from 1993-1999. In addition, Webre is the Artistic Director of Halcyon, an annual international Festival for Creativity in Washington DC. As a choreographer, Webre has worked various renowned ballet companies, and he has worked frequently in theatre and opera. As a dancer, He danced solo and principal roles from the classical repertoire and contemporary works. He has served on the juries of international ballet competitions. He has served on the board of Dance/USA.

衛承天是國際著名芭蕾舞團總監、編舞家、教育家及倡導者。在他於2017年7月加入香港芭蕾舞團擔任藝術總監前，曾出任華盛頓芭蕾舞團藝術總監17年，以及於1993年至1999年間出任美國新澤西普林斯頓美國劇目芭蕾舞團藝術總監。現時他是美國華盛頓一基金會Halcyon的藝術總監。作為編舞家，衛承天的作品可見於各大芭蕾舞團；他亦經常參與劇場和歌劇製作。作為一位舞者，曾擔任多齣古典舞劇和當代作品的主角及獨舞。他也曾任多個國際芭蕾舞比賽的評審，並曾任「舞蹈/美國」的董事局成員。

Giselle will open on 26th October at Hong Kong Cultural Centre's Grand Theatre. Three international guest artists will dance alongside Hong Kong Ballet artists in leading roles; they are International Ballet Star and American Ballet Theatre’s former Principal Dancer, Marcelo Gomes; American Ballet Theatre’s Principal Dancer, Sarah Lane and Bavarian State Ballet’s Guest Principal Dancer, Matthew Golding.
