Join MTR Chief Architect (ARBUK) Andrew Mead for a walking tour where he will explain the history and ideas behind the Art in MTR programme. Starting at Hong Kong station, we will see three of the original artworks that were commissioned 20 years ago as part of the Airport Express project. From there we will take a train from Central to Admiralty station to see ‘Playcode’, one of MTR’s newest artworks that is a clever interplay between Morse Code and QR codes. We will then travel back on the Island Line with a quick stop at Central Station to see Lucia Cheung’s artwork ‘Home with a View’ and then proceed to the three West Island Line stations where Andrew will explain the ideas and techniques used to create the artworks that are integrated with the station finishes.
