HONG KONG, March 15, 2016 - Pakistani-born and internationally recognized artist Shahzia Sikander and guest curator Claire Brandon discussed the underlying concept behind the Shahzia Sikander: Apparatus of Power exhibition. They touched on the historical significance of the former explosives magazine site of Asia Society Hong Kong and the colonial history of Hong Kong. Sikander went through each image to explain the method, process, and idea that she had in mind when painting the specific artwork. (1 hr., 18 min.)
