HONG KONG, January 2, 2015 - Asia Society Hong Kong Center offers our sincerest condolences to the Harilela family on the passing of Dr. Hari Harilela on December 29, 2014.

Dr. Harilela had been a staunch supporter of Asia Society, serving as a member of the Society’s Global Council from 2003 until 2014. In this capacity, he was instrumental in helping Asia Society to connect Hong Kong with the international community. He also cared much about the local community, giving support to some major programs of the Asia Society Hong Kong Center. Dr. Harilela, a successful entrepreneur and a renowned philanthropist who had made tremendous contributions towards the development of the Indian community and Hong Kong, and especially the tertiary education sector, will be long remembered as a respectable, pioneering and visionary Hong Kong community leader, connecting cultures of Asia and the rest of the world.
