H.E. Dagmar Schmidt Tartagli

H.E. Dagmar Schmidt Tartagli is the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Korea (ROK) since December 2021. Since beginning her diplomatic career in 1997, the ambassador held various positions in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of Switzerland, including the Central-Eastern Europe cooperation and international law.

Prior to her current appointment, the ambassador worked in France, Italy, Morocco, and Senegal. For the first transfer, she was appointed as Attaché of Switzerland Embassy to France in 1998. From 2007 to 2010, she was Deputy Head of the International Law Section in the Directorate of Public International Law in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berne. In 2014, she became Swiss Ambassador to Senegal, Cabo Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mali und Mauritania, residing in Dakar, Senegal. Four years before her transfer to Seoul, she served as Deputy Head of Mission in Rome, Italy.

H.E. Dagmar Schmidt Tartagli earned her Bachelor in Arts and Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. In 2003, Her Excellency received PhD in Administrative Sciences (Dr. rer. publ. HSG) at the same institution in 2003.
