Daniel A. Pinkston is a lecturer in international relations with Troy University. Previously he was the Northeast Asia Deputy Project Director for the International Crisis Group in Seoul, and the director of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. Pinkston received his Ph.D. in international affairs from the University of California, San Diego, and he has a M.A. in Korean studies from Yonsei University. He is the author of The North Korean Ballistic Missile Program, and has published several scholarly articles and book chapters on Korean security affairs. He also served as a Korean linguist in the U.S. Air Force.
Leif-Eric Easley is Associate Professor in the Division of International Studies at Ewha Womans University where he teaches international security and political economics. His research interests include contested national identities and bilateral security relationships in Northeast Asia. He specializes in U.S. security alliances, U.S.-ROK-Japan trilateral coordination on China and North Korea, and the geopolitical implications of domestic political reform (especially in the case of Myanmar). Professor Easley is regularly involved in high-level U.S.-Asia exchanges (Track II diplomacy) with the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. He completed his B.A. in political science with a minor in mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University’s Department of Government.
Mason Richey is associate professor of international politics at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Seoul, South Korea). He specializes in US and European foreign and security policy in East Asia. His recent research has appeared in Asia Europe Journal, Global Governance, and Parameters. He also writes for International Politics and Society, Forbes, and the policy brief series of the Institute for European Studies.
