Video: Chinese and Japanese Works of Art in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen
HONG KONG, December 5, 2016 – Rufus Bird, deputy surveyor of the Queen’s works of art – unveiled some of the magnificent artworks and objects from the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen. He discussed the royal characteristics of the vast collection, and gave insight to the activities of the collectors, including objects received as gifts and diplomatic visits from China and Japan that reflected the tastes of the collector’s time. The collection can be found in the written entries of John Ayers, former Keeper of the Far Eastern Department of the Victoria and Albert Museum. (1hr, 12 min.)
