Opening Ceremony of Temple, Scrolls and Divine Messengers: Archaeology of the Land of Israel in Roman Times
HONG KONG, November 11, 2014 – Asia Society Hong Kong Center unravelled its latest exhibition –Temple, Scrolls and Divine Messengers: Archaeology of the Land of Israel in Roman Times – with an opening ceremony on November 3, 2014. The exhibtion, co-organized with The Israel Museum, Jerusalem and generously supported by Lead Sponsor, Medtlife Foundation and other partners will commence from November 4, 2014 to January 25, 2015.
Temple, Scrolls and Divine Messengers: Arachaeology of the Land of Israel in Roman Times deciphered the secrets and meanings behind the Gabriel Revelation Stone and the Isaiah Scroll, and through them, explores the significance of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period between the 1st century BCE and the 1st century CE. It also contains other rare items such as carved stone fragments from the Temple Mount complex, ossuaries and tools, glass and pottery from Jerusalem's Herodian Quarter and Khirbet Qumran in the Dead Sea region.
Over 200 art lovers and friends of Asia Society Hong Kong Center joined this exhibition opening ceremony, followed by a gallery tour and an Israel wine tasting session.
