Niret Alva, Class of 2007

Miditech Pvt. Ltd

Niret Alva is an award-winning television journalist, producer, anchor, and director. He is the co-founder of Miditech Pvt. Ltd and for his work received the National Award for Excellence in Visual Science-Based Communication and the Asian Television Award for Best Anchor in a Current Affairs Series. Miditech Pvt. Ltd, the independent content production company he co-founded with his brother Nikhil Alva, has received 80 national and international awards for its documentaries, reality shows, drama series and kids programming. Alva currently divides his time between television work and teaching at the Srishti School of Art and Design in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Aarti Shrivastava is a national award-winning documentary filmmaker at the Humanity Watchdog Foundation. Her quest to tell human stories with a vision to drive change led her to produce documentaries, which got her critical acclamation globally. Over the last 10 years, she was involved in journalism, film & TV and worked on projects with multinationals like AXN, CNBC, World Bank, Star Group, Discovery, Channel 4, Colors, Sony Network and several others. Her films and projects have created a grass-root movement in each community that has been touched through the process. Currently, she is producing and directing a multi-year documentary project that highlights stories from the unstable region of Kashmir, India, which is riddled with politics, terror and human rights crises. Besides managing HWF, which was conceptualized while she was studying social entrepreneurship at Stanford University, she also manages mega-budget commercial Bollywood film projects.
