Nishtha is a dynamic professional with a multifaceted career journey combining carbon market expertise and a social entrepreneurship and consulting background.
Starting her career at Deloitte Consulting, Nishtha honed her skills in strategy and management for three years before embarking on a career in sustainability. Equipped with a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and a vision to bridge the gap between business and the environment, she pursued an MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. She then transitioned to social entrepreneurship, working closely with Indian artisans at the grassroots level. This experience allowed her to witness the power of community-driven initiatives and the profound impact of sustainable practices on livelihoods. The artisan community works very closely with the agricultural community. While engaging with the artisan community, she realized that climate change was one of the biggest threats facing them and the agricultural sector.
To further her expertise in climate change, she earned an MSc. in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh. The master's program gave her a comprehensive understanding of carbon markets, emissions reduction strategies, and sustainability principles.
Nishtha's unique career path and diverse educational background have positioned her as a thought leader who can bridge the worlds of business, sustainability, and climate policy. She continues to be a driving force in the Indian carbon market landscape, leveraging her experiences to help achieve decarbonization goals.
Nishtha remains deeply passionate about art and crafts. She sees traditional art forms as a means of regional creative expression; they are a source of inspiration and a reminder of the importance of preserving cultural heritage and creativity.
