Northeast Asian Security Challenges and Future Opportunities
Asia Society Korea partnered with the Korea National Defense University (KNDU) and Research Institute for National Security Affairs (RINSA) and hosted a joint seminar on Northeast Asian Security Challenges and Future Opportunities. The high-level discussion, held under Chatham House rules, took place on June 15th on topics such as the Russia-Ukraine war, the ROK-US alliance, strategies for North Korea and China, and possible outcomes of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Participants from the U.S side included Dr. Dov S. Zakheim, former Under Secretary of Defense, and Alison Hooker, former Special Assistant to the U.S. President, while the Korean delegation included Chun In Bum LTG (Ret.), former Commander of Special Forces Command, and Kim Won Soo, former Under-Secretary-General at the United Nations.
