The Candidate: Race For The Oval Office
MUMBAI, 1 August 2016 - Asia Society in partnership with Bloomberg was pleased to host a conversation on the upcoming U.S. Presidential election and its global impact. The evening featured in conversation, experts Andy Mukherjee, Columnist, Bloomberg Gadfly, and Ridham Desai, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley.
The discussion went beyond the question of the winning candidate and zeroed in on the tangible results of the victories of either contender. Mukherjee set the framework for the discussion, asking what policies will be implemented and how India and Asia will respond. The discussion spanned all of Asia, from China to Russia and Pakistan to Japan, with both speakers providing nuanced and varied perspectives.
Covering a breadth of subjects from monetary policy to trade relations to political trends, the discussion left the audience with questions as well as answers, underscoring the uncertainty and significance of this election on global policy and business.
