Abdul Atarud (Class of 2012)
Abdul Alim Atarud is the Presdident of the Afghanistan National Public Health Association (ANPHA). He has been extensively engaged with the Afghan Ministry of Public Health and other stakeholders to enhance cultural diversity, advocate for improved public health policies and support a universal health system for Afghanistan.
Abdul is also a Fulbright Scholar, with degrees in Masters of Public Health and Doctor of Management Studies. He has previously completed a series of leadership and strategic management programs in the UK, Netherlands and in the United States. He is also fellow of World Bank Institute in DC on Health Sector Reform. He has previously served in various national and international organizations in leadership positions, such as IFRC (Organizational Development Manager), USAID Health System 2020 (NHA Team Lead), Health Partners International of Canada (Country Director), Ministry of Public Health (Chief of Staff) and UNDP (Deputy Program Manager).
