In this TEQ Video, we will watch a second-grade Chinese immersion class in Jingmei Elementary School in Bellevue, Washington. In this specific lesson, the Chinese teacher, Xi Sun, has demonstrated how to develop children’s communicative skills while they are learning the story. From this video, you can see that the children will learn how to share ideas, compare ideas, and negotiate to make decisions in target language.
The teacher has organized this lesson in two parts around the story: In Part 1, the children discovered the setting of the story through reading and talking about the story.
