Book Club: Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu
Join Asia Society New York and the Asian American Writer's Workshop for a virtual book club led by author Charles Yu to discuss his novel Interior Chinatown. A 2020 National Book Award winner and New York Times bestseller, the deeply personal novel is about race, pop culture, immigration, assimilation, and escaping the roles we are forced to play.
The event is for Asia Society members and takes place Thursday, May 20, 5:30–7 p.m. Central.

Aurora Picture Show SATELLITES

It's time to check back in with the Aurora Picture Show's ongoing exploration into experimental media arts, a digital collection highlighting filmmaking by a wide range of artists from Houston as well as all over the world! The works are updated regularly, so with each visit to the page there is something new to experience, like Cathy Lee Crane's Bee Film, an Aurora Picture Show commission from 2015 exploring the life of bees and their human caretakers in Hilo, Hawaii.
Distant Mountains Album Release by Wu Man and Wu Wei
Listen to pipa virtuoso Wu Man and sheng master Wu Wei (who performed at Asia Society in 2019) perform together for the first time at the 2018 Moregenland Festival Osnabrueck. The recording ranges from traditional Chinese pieces to new compositions and improvisations, showcasing the duo's ability to blend the traditional and contemporary while highlighting a variety of regional musical traditions.
