Executive Roundtable with Dan Rosen
On April 17, Asia Society Northern California hosted an Executive Roundtable with Dan Rosen at Arnold & Porter's Silicon Valley office.
Daniel H. Rosen is a founding partner of Rhodium Group and leads the firm’s work on China, India and Asia. He has twenty-six years of professional experience analyzing China’s economy, commercial sector and external interactions and is widely recognized for his contributions on the US-China economic relationship. He is affiliated with a number of American thinktanks focused on international economics, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University. From 2000-2001, Dan was Senior Adviser for International Economic Policy at the White House National Economic Council and National Security Council. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and board member of the National Committee on US-China Relations.
Throughout his presentation, Dan underscored China’s rise as a technology power and how it has triggered an overhaul of many US regulatory regimes: investment reviews, rules for the export of “foundational and emerging” technologies, government procurement, 5G and other infrastructure vender restrictions, visa policy for students and researchers, and even new “industrial policies” are all under implementation or discussion. Key industry leaders and consulate representatives were present at the event which added a robust discussion.

Program topics are around headline news, business analysis, and critical issues coming out of Asia. These monthly briefings, launched in September 2017, have grown in popularity to generate wait-lists quickly. Most events are off-the-record to encourage open debate and discussion.
