Asia Game Changer West Awards Virtual Gala Recap

On Tuesday, April 7, 2020 Asia Society Northern California hosted its Asia Game Changer West Awards Virtual Gala via Zoom. The Virtual Gala honored CEO of Zoom Eric Yuan, Co-Founder of Enplug Nanxi Liu, Inventor of Manovue Roopam Sharma, and Multimedia Artist Yang Yongliang as Game Changers. Viewers tuned in across the globe to watch and support Asia Society's mission of building bridges - from the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea, Canada, France, China, Vietnam, Australia, India, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, Philippines, Pakistan, Austria, Burundi, United Kingdom, Moldova, Palestine, Russia, and Malaysia.

The program featured 16 speakers joining from around the world including California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis and Asia Society Global President and CEO Josette Sheeran.  COVID-19 updates were shared by Dr. Bonnie Maldonado from Stanford University School of Medicine and Dr. Yongwei Zhang, Group VP of BGI-Shenzhen.  Asia Society Global Trustee Duncan Clark also hosted a fireside chat with Eric Yuan, who updated the audience on Zoom's progress and outreach during shelter in place.  Speakers joined from their homes and offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Stanford Medicine, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Hong Kong.
