On Monday, October 15th, Alice Mong, Executive Director of Asia Society Hong Kong, joined the Northern California Center to discuss the history of the Hong Kong Center and its iconic location.  Alice started the conversation by delving into the rich military history of the Hong Kong Center as a former explosives magazine.  Jack Wadsworth, Asia Society Northern California's Honorary Chair, also spoke about the building site, a site that was converted from a military installation into a world-class arts and culture center, featuring a theater, an art gallery with world-renowned exhibitions.

Featuring architecture by Todd Williams and Billie Tsien, the Asia Society Hong Kong Center now serves as a distinguished architectural landmark that allows Hong Kong residents to participate in Asia Society programming.  Alice then spoke about the gallery and exhibition space as well as the range of different performing arts events held at the Hong Kong Center and gave the Northern California audience an open invitation for a personal tour of the Center.

Held at the City Club of San Francisco, the event allowed members from Asia Society Hong Kong and Northern California to meet and network, with the expectation of further collaboration.
