NEW YORK, September 23, 2016 — As the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) prepares for its 50th anniversary, top officials from member states discuss the future of the organization. Minister of Foreign Affairs for Laos Saleumxay Kommasith and CEO of the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute Michael Yeoh give opening remarks, followed by a panel discussion with U.S. Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Russel, Timor-Leste Prime Minister Rui Maria de Araújo, and Albert Chua, second permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.
