Celebrating Children on Children's Day
VIEW EVENT DETAILSIndia's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, popularly known as Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru) to children in India, envisioned a future for children where opportunities should be manifold for them to excel in every way. Commemorating Pandit Nehru's birthday, his unique friendship with Mahatma Gandhi, and their shared devotion to children, Asia Society and the Gandhi Memorial Center will offer two family-oriented workshops to celebrate childhood with children of ages 5 and up.
Tell Your Story, Make your Book
with Artist Sushmita Mazumdar
Share stories from your life and make them into books and encourage multi-cultural understanding and multi-generational exchange. Use paper to make a handmade storybook to take home with you and leave one copy behind for the Gandhi Center Library so others in the community get inspired to do the same.
