Symposium: The Legacy of the Progressives (Complete)
NEW YORK, October 25, 2018 — Through presentations and discussion, the concluding panel of "The Progressive Genealogy: Art and Culture in Modern India" evaluates the legacy of the Progressive Artists' Group by examining the impact they had on the social and aesthetic landscape of contemporary India. Presenters included Barnard College Associate Professor of History Anupama Rao, Metropolitan Museum of Art Assistant Curator Brinda Kumar, and contemporary artist Jitish Kallat.
