NEW YORK, April 15, 2023 — In the first panel discussion of To Hell and Back symposium, religious scholars discuss the different portrayals of hell across religions and cultures. Speakers include Ismail Fajrie Alatas, assistant professor of Middle Eastern Studies at New York University; Sonam Kachru, assistant professor of Religious Studies at Yale University; and Subhashini Kaligotla, associate professor at the Department of Art History and Archaeology of Columbia University.
