2020 Annual Gala Honoree: Stephen Riady

Dr. Stephen Riady

International Business Visionary

Executive Chairman & Group CEO, OUE Limited

Dr. Stephen Riady is the Executive Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of OUE Limited, one of the leading, publicly listed, diversified real estate companies in Singapore. Among his other appointments, Dr. Riady is Chairman and Executive Director of Hong Kong-listed Lippo Limited, Lippo China Resources Limited, and Hongkong Chinese Limited. He also serves as Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director of Singapore-listed healthcare group Healthway Medical Corporation.

Dr. Riady has made numerous contributions to the field of public service. He has held various roles, including as Founding Honorary Advisor of the University of Hong Kong Foundation for Education Development and Research, Patron of the Singapore Badminton Association and Fellow of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award World Fellowship. He is also a Global Trustee of the Asia Society and Honorary Patron of the Securities Investor Association of Singapore (SIAS). Dr. Riady sits on the Advisory Board of the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and is a member of the Committee to Promote Economic Cooperation between Fujian and Hong Kong. He is an Honorary Citizen of
Shenzhen, PRC.

Dr. Riady was conferred the prestigious Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government. He received the Ernst and Young (E&Y) ASEAN Entrepreneurial Excellence Award 2018 and E&Y Strategic Investment Entrepreneur of the Year 2007. More recently, Dr. Riady was conferred the ASEAN Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2020 ASEAN Leadership and partnership Forum. Dr. Riady is a graduate of the University of Southern California and holds a master’s degree of Business Administration from Golden Gate University, USA. He was conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration from Edinburgh Napier University, United Kingdom, and is one of the first Honorary University Fellows installed by the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Dr. Riady established the Stephen Riady Group of Foundations in 2010 to create opportunities for aspiring youths by enabling them to realise their potential and make a positive difference to their lives and the lives of people around them. Since it was established, the Stephen Riady Group of Foundations has given over S$200 million to various causes and institutions across the world.
