(Members Only) Hot Take: Elections in India
VIEW EVENT DETAILSwith Christophe Jaffrelot
In our ongoing endeavor to build a platform of dialogue and exchange on significant developments across Asia, Asia Society France is thrilled to introduce the third installment of our newest initiative, "Hot Take”.
For our third hot Take session, we are excited to delve into the upcoming elections in the world's largest democracy: India. A country that shares land borders with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, China, Bhutan, Nepal, and Myanmar, and has neighboring island countries of Maldives and Sri Lanka - India's elections hold paramount importance domestically and in shaping the geopolitical dynamics of South Asia and beyond. With India's demographics and multifaceted socio-political landscape, understanding the nuances of its elections is very important for comprehending the nation's trajectory and its global impact.
Our distinguished speaker for this session will be Christophe Jaffrelot, a preeminent expert on India. As the Research Director at CERI-SciencesPo/CNRS, President of the French Political Science Association, and Professor of Indian Politics and Sociology at King's College London, Jaffrelot will bring his expertise and insights into the complexities of Indian electoral processes.
Hot Take's are for Asia Society France members only - join us to have exclusive access!
