Acumen Fund has invested more than US$35M in private enterprises that serve the poor in Pakistan, India, and East Africa. Jacqueline will share lessons learned from seven years investing in Pakistan, where Acumen Fund has invested over $7.5 million in 8 companies. She will discuss models like Saiban, which has provided low-cost housing to more than 40,000; FMIA, a joint venture that has sold more than 30,000 health insurance policies; and Kashf, a microfinance institution serving more than 300,000 poor women by making small loans to help themselves change their own lives. Jacqueline will also share her vision for a new way forward for the US partnership with Pakistan.
