“Thailand’s color revolutions seem to be teeming out of control, with pressure mounting on both sides to escalate and few signs of compromise on either side,” says Asia Society Executive Vice President Jamie Metzl. “While it is clear to all that Thailand needs more democracy, the main red-shirt claim, and stronger institutions, what the yellows are calling for, how these two groups can work together to achieve a common vision for the country is anybody’s guess.”
