Some 400 guests made it to the Grand Ballroom of New York City's Waldorf=Astoria Hotel on Wednesday night for the Asia Society Awards Dinner, which honored former U.S. Deputy Secreatary of State John C. Whitehead, Tony Award winning playwright David Henry Hwang and Burmese democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson and New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly were among the attendees of the black-tie event.
