The Great Wall: Trade Enforcement in the Age of Trump
VIEW EVENT DETAILSThe Trump administration is positioning trade enforcement as a cornerstone of its international trade policy. In January 2018, it announced import duties on washing machines and solar panels, and is now considering trade enforcement measures on steel and aluminum imports, as well as measures to address the alleged theft of U.S. intellectual property by China.
In partnership with the Washington International Trade Association (WITA) and the National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC), the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) is pleased to co-host a panel discussion that examines the U.S. administration's trade enforcement strategy and what it means for workers, firms, and consumers in the U.S. and around the world.
Speakers:
Heidi Brock, President and CEO, Aluminum Association
Wendy Cutler, Vice President, Asia Society Policy Institute
Nova Daly, Senior Public Policy Advisor, Wiley Rein LLP
Rufus Yerxa, President, National Foreign Trade Council
David Lynch (moderator), Global Economics Correspondent, The Washington Post
