Will Covid-19 Tame the Wildlife Trade?
September 1, 2020 — While we don’t know yet for sure how COVID-19 crossed from animals to humans, initial suggestions linking infections to bats and concern over future pandemic risks have triggered a renewed focus on the wildlife trade in China and other countries around the world. In this webcast, Environmental Investigation Agency’s (EIA) Aron White discusses this subject with Nadya Hutagalung, UN Environment goodwill ambassador; Lixin Huang, former president of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and Sarah H. Olson, associate director for epidemiology for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Health Program. This webcast was co-hosted by EIA. (56 min., 26 sec.)
