NEW YORK, September 13, 2015 — In conjunction with the exhibition Philippine Gold: Treasures of Forgotten Kingdoms, Asia Society New York hosted Tunog ng Ulap Rondalla, a plucked string ensemble, for a performance of original compositions and arrangements of traditional pieces that celebrate the musical dynamism of the islands. Rondalla is an ensemble of stringed instruments with origins from the folk traditions of Spain, which were brought to the Philippines and incorporated into the culture. (1 hr., 30 min.)
