NORTHGLENN, October 22, 2019 — In this TEQ video activity, we will watch the Chinese language teacher, Yanjuan Zhu’s 2nd-grade Chinese immersion class at the Global Village Academy – Northglenn in Northglenn, Colorado. This video presents a group presentation that encourages students’ interpersonal communication before and after the presentation. The teacher’s explanation with her well-designed slides provides students with clear instructions on how to prepare for the presentation task. This activity reveals that the process of preparing and discussing a presentation is as important as the presentation itself. Teachers should create opportunities and guide the students to engage in actual communication as they prepare for the group presentation.
