June 17, 2021 — Dr. Yeuen Kim, clinical instructor for primary care and population health at Stanford University School of Medicine; Dr. Alice Hyun-Kyung Tan, internist and international healthcare consultant at MizMedi Women’s Hospital; and Dr. James Lawler, special advisor for health at The Asia Group engaged in a discussion about COVID-19 and lessons learned from the United States and the Korean peninsula. Paul Choi, head of Korean research at CLSA, moderated the discussion. The program was sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco, and Consul General Yoon Sang-soo gave opening remarks. 

The discussion covered a range of topics including lessons learned from the COVID-19 experience and how to prepare for the future, how cultural differences between the U.S. and South Korea impacted each country's response to the virus, and the global prospect of vaccine access by the end of 2021 and beyond (1 hr., 1 min.).
