Executive Roundtable on Unravelling the Complexities of Disinformation in ASEAN Countries
VIEW EVENT DETAILSDisinformation, fueled by technological advancements, social media, and geopolitical tensions, poses a pervasive global challenge. In ASEAN countries, it takes on unique characteristics due to diverse cultural, political, historical, and technological landscapes. The use of social media as a primary information source amplifies the spread of disinformation. ASEAN’s unique challenges require all stakeholders work collaboratively to develop a resilience and secure information environment.
Join us on Tuesday February 27, 2024, for a discussion exploring this important topic with David Tang, Managing Partner at K&L Gates. He will be joined by Kristi Heim, Asia Society Seattle Advisory Council member. We will explore many of the key questions – How to define disinformation in ASEAN region? What are the primary forms of disinformation? What are the main challenges of regulating disinformation? How can comprehensive approaches be developed to regulate and ameliorate disinformation.
