On October 16, 2023, Asia Society Japan welcomed Ambassador ARIMA Yutaka, Director General of the North American Affairs Bureau in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Asia Society Policy Salon Tokyo. Ambassador Arima offered a sweeping overview of the state of Japan-US relations, noting how the relationship has evolved to become the strongest in its history. The presentation was followed by a discussion with moderator Jesper Koll about the current state of the bilateral alliance and Japan's role in expanding partnerships among like-minded countries and promoting a rule-based order. In the Q&A session, the group engaged in a lively discussion for our shared futures.
