In our ongoing endeavor to build a platform of dialogue and exchange on significant developments across Asia, Asia Society France is thrilled to introduce the second installment of our newest initiative, "Hot Take”.
For our second "Hot Take" discussion, we are hosting a debrief on the upcoming February 8th pivotal national and provincial elections in Pakistan, the world’s fifth-most populous nation and bordered by India, Afghanistan, Iran, and China - meaning these elections hold tremendous importance in shaping the geopolitical dynamics of the region.
Our esteemed speaker, Farhan Bokhari, the Financial Times correspondent based in Pakistan for over 30 years, is renowned for his incisive analyses and will lead us through the intricacies of this electoral process and event.

Farhan Bokhari has been the FT's correspondent based in Pakistan for over 30 years, reporting on the south Asian country and issues that link it to its surrounding region. During this time, he has also written for other publications in Pakistan and internationally while additionally making appearances in TV discussions. His academic background in journalism, international relations, and political science took him for graduate studies to The City University in London, The London School of Economics and Simon Fraser University in Canada.
