Japanese Abstraction

We are pleased to present, in collaboration with HDM Gallery and Gallery Tamenaga, the first vernissage of Japanese artists at Asia Society France’s Tilsitt Space by Takehiko Sugawara, and Toshiyuki Kajioka, two well-known abstract painters. Living and working in Japan, both artists proclaim their success as built on Japanese traditional techniques – rinpa for Sugawara, and sumi for Kajioka. Both have found a perfect harmony in mingling the heritage into modern abstract expressions in the interpretation of their preferred subjects, to be exhibited at our Tilsitt Space.
