Stanley Qiufan Chen

Chen Qiufan (a.k.a. Stanley Chan) (b. Shantou, Guangdong) is an award-winning Chinese speculative fiction author, and a translator, curator, Berggruen Institute Fellow, Asia21 Next Generation Fellow(2023), and Research Scholar for MacMillan Center of Yale University (2023). He focuses on issues of climate change and the environment, artificial intelligence and cybernetic society, and reflecting on how to incorporate ancient Chinese philosophies into the narrative framework for constructing a future technological society.
His works include the debut novel Waste Tide and AI 2041: Ten Visions for Our Future (co-authored with Dr. Kai-Fu Lee). He has garnered numerous literary awards, including Prix Imaginales, Taiwan’s Dragon Fantasy Award and China’s Galaxy and Xingyun (Nebula) Awards, German Business Book Prize of 2022, etc. He's now travelling around the world for different projects and research.
Nicolas Mialhe

Co-founder & CEO, PRISM Eval; Chairman of the Board, The Future Society (TFS)
Nicolas (Nico) Miailhe co-founded PRISM Eval in 2024, a new Paris-based AI Safety evaluation and interpretability organization advancing a new field: LLM Cognitive Science. Before that, Nico founded and led from 2014 until 2023 The Future Society (TFS), an independent AI Governance think-and-do tank. With TFS Nico pioneered institutional innovation work to help design and deploy Artificial Intelligence governance frameworks, principles and mechanisms on both sides of the Atlantic and beyond. A recognized strategist, thought-leader, and implementer, Nicolas has lectured around the world, and advises governments, international organizations, philanthropies, and multinationals. He is an appointed expert to the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI), where he co-chairs the Committee on Climate Action & Biodiversity Preservation. He is also an invited expert to the OECD’s AI Group of experts (ONE.AI) and to UNESCO’s High Level Expert Group on AI Ethics, among others. Nicolas has taught AI Governance at the Paris School of International Affairs (Sciences Po), and at the IE School of Global & Public Affairs in Madrid. He is also a Future World Fellow with the Center for the Governance of Change at IE Business School in Madrid. An Arthur Sachs Scholar, Nicolas holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master in Defense, Geostrategy & Industrial Dynamics from Panthéon-Assas University, and a Bachelor of Arts in European Affairs and International Relations from Sciences Po Strasbourg.
Angela Huyue Zhang

Angela Zhang is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Hong Kong and Director of the Philip K. H. Wong Center for Chinese Law. Widely recognized as a leading authority on China’s tech regulation, Angela has written extensively on this topic. She is the author of "Chinese Antitrust Exceptionalism: How the Rise of China Challenges Global Regulation" (Oxford, 2021), which was named one of the Best Political Economy Books of 2021 by ProMarket. Angela's second book, "High Wire: How China Regulates Big Tech and Governs Its Economy," will be released by Oxford University Press in March 2024. In fall 2024, Angela will join the University of Southern California as a Professor of Law. Senior Director of Public & Governmental Affairs, bioMérieux
Arnaud started his career as a political advisor in the cabinet of the French Minister of Health & Sports (2008-2010), then of the Minister of Social Affairs (2010-2011). In 2011, he joined Institut Mérieux, in charge of the family holding’s institutional and public relations in China, based in Beijing.
In 2017, he joined bioMérieux as Asia Pacific Strategic Initiatives Manager based in Singapore. In 2019, he took over the commercial development of the company in Indonesia.
Since September 2020, Arnaud is based in Lyon , in charge of the Patient Value Strategy as well as of the Public & Governmental Affairs of the company. Since 2011, he helps with the development of Mérieux Equity Partners in Asia, the investment fund of Institut Mérieux.
Arnaud is also the co-founder of the Marco Polo Institute, a think tank active in Beijing & Shanghai from 2012 to 2016, aiming at identifying innovative public policies and corporate practices in China. Arnaud graduated from Harvard Business School (MBA, 2016) and Sciences Po Paris(Bachelor, 2008; Master in Public Affairs, 2010). He also holds a bachelor degree in Chinese language and civilization from the National Institute of Oriental Studies in Paris (INALCO).
