FAQ

What will the campaign achieve?

This campaign will result in critical advances for Asia Society as it moves forward with its strategic vision, including:

  • Revolutionizing the way public policy development occurs throughout national capitals and global institutions in Asia and the West, seeking to solve intractable problems by ensuring Asian perspectives are included in policy formulation.
  • Developing exciting new arts and cultural programming that reaches thousands of people globally, through cultural exchange, best practices promotion, tours, and innovative use of technology.
  • Fostering new generations of globally literate and internationally engaged citizens by advancing professional development offerings, partnerships, and resources as well as educational exchange across Asia, the U.S., and the world resulting in students who will be more globally competent and better equipped to succeed in the 21st Century – the Asian Century.

Who is leading the campaign for Asia Society?

The campaign is an initiative led by board members and friends across the Asia Society global network.

Who will be asked to participate in the campaign?

All those with a relationship to Asia Society will be asked to invest in this important endeavor. This includes, but is not limited to, members of the board, community stakeholders, and other supporters.

How was the financial goal of $135 million determined?

The goal is based on a study of the needs of Asia Society conducted in 2015.

Can I designate my gift to a specific area/project?

To ensure the strategic aims of the campaign are achieved, Asia Society encourages donors to make undesignated gifts in support of the whole campaign. This will provide the board of trustees and staff leadership with the greatest flexibility in implementing priority and time-sensitive projects. However, donors can designate their commitments to a specific area.

Are naming opportunities available?

Yes. A list of naming opportunities has been developed to honor extraordinary commitments to the campaign. A list of naming opportunities is available upon request.
