HOUSTON, September 6, 2023 — Approximately 2,000 guests enjoyed a free concert featuring Luna Li and Dengue Fever, presented by Asia Society Texas at Miller Outdoor Theatre.
Help Us Build a More Inclusive World
Luna Li, the musical art project of Hannah Kim, showcased her lush dreampop, focusing on songs from her acclaimed debut album Duality, including “Cherry Pit” and “Flower (In Full Bloom).” In a solo performance, she sampled and layered sounds from her guitar and violin to create a shimmering soundscape, perfect for a summer evening.
Dengue Fever followed with an energetic performance, capitalizing on their signature update of Cambodian psychedelic rock. The group played classic songs and previewed music from their upcoming album Ting Mong. By the time the band reached their hit “Tiger Phone Card,” the audience was in full dance mode. The band enthusiastically responded by interacting with audience, even jumping off the stage to play amongst them.
