VIEW EVENT DETAILSIn Collaboration with World Affairs Council of Greater Houston
Please note that the first portion of the workshop will take place at the Federal Reserve Bank, 1801 Allen Parkway. The afternoon session will take place at Asia Society Texas Center, 1370 Southmore Boulevard.
China's role in east Asia, North Korea's status quo, and relations with the U.S. are some of the key topics that will be discussed at this workshop. This workshop will give social studies teachers the knowledge needed to take part in the debate on the U.S. role in the greater Asian region. In the afternoon, participants will have a private guided tour of exhibitions at Asia Society focusing on Japan and North Korea. Teachers will walk away with ready-to-use lesson plans, resources, and ideas for classroom activities. This workshop is planned with teachers in mind, but is open to all.
This workshop is pending approval by the Texas Board of Educators Certification for six hours of Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT) credit.
