Decoding China's Climate Agenda
NEW YORK, June 18, 2024 — Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) hosts a panel discussion with the launching of its latest report Climate Change in China’s Governance: Agenda, Agents, and International Collaboration, which investigates the prioritization of climate issues within China’s bureaucracy and how this is essential for assessing China’s progress on climate goals. Speakers include the report's author Guoguang Wu, senior fellow on Chinese Politics at ASPI’s Center for China Analysis; Li Shuo, director of the ASPI China Climate Hub; and Deborah Seligsohn, senior associate with the Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. New York Times Climate reporter Somini Sengupta moderates the conversation. Deepali Khanna, vice president of the Asia Regional Office of Rockefeller Foundation, delivers the opening remarks.
