2015 International Summit on the Teaching Profession
The 2015 International Summit on the Teaching Profession took place in Banff, Canada. Building on the results of previous Summits, it focused on the issue of how education systems can move from dialogue to effective implementation.
The goal of this Summit was to share emerging best practices and issues around the following three interrelated topics that are critical to the success of education systems in the modern era:
- Promoting and developing effective leadership
- Valuing teachers and strengthening their effectiveness
- Encouraging innovation to create twenty-first century learning environments
The 2015 Summit was hosted by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada, and the Learning Partnership, a Canadian national education non-profit, and organized in cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Education International.
